Our friend, the amazingly talented Krista Jansen, just posted a flattering endorsement of the project:
They love opera, and were sad that it usually gets stuck in the usual expensive places.  As much fun as it is to go to the Met once in a while, they thought that opera could be brought somewhere else- to the underground music scene.  And maybe you’d be able to go more than once in a while.  Maybe you’d be exposed to opera, in a way you haven’t been before.  Maybe you didn’t even know you liked opera.  Maybe finding yourself in a Brooklyn loft, drinking a local brew and listening to some beautiful musicians will change your mind.
Thanks for the props. We sincerely appreciate them.

The fundraiser will begin at 7:30 PM. Cover will be $5, drinks will be $5, and donations will be optional. You can come with as little as $10 in your pocket and have a great time listening to some talented musicians. We will have classic opera (a couple of singers will serenade), 20th century music (a bit of John Cage), and two contemporary bands of very different stripes (Oh! My Blackbird and Tiny Hazard).

If you want to support LoftOpera, see good music, or just drink some locally-brewed beer, come to South Williamsburg on the J/M/Z Marcy stop (5 minute walk) or the L Bedford stop (15 minute walk).

Final destination: 141 S 5th St, apt 2E (between Bedford and Driggs)

If you can't make it, then please consider donating to our Indiegogo campaign...Actually, just consider donating whether you're coming or not.
